After a string of three wins, the Giltner Hornets's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 43-32 to Lawrence-Nelson. Giltner has not had much luck with Lawrence-Nelson recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Giltner's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Preston Larson, who scored six points along with ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Smith, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.
Giltner's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Lawrence-Nelson, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Giltner will take on Kenesaw at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lawrence-Nelson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rock Hills on Tuesday.
