The Gilbert Christian Knights put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Globe, posting a 111-32 win on the road. Given Gilbert Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Globe is ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gilbert Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jace Olson, who scored 21 points along with 5 rebounds. The contest was Olson's third in a row with at least ten points. Logan Lucero was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 7 assists and 5 steals.
Gilbert Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Globe, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilbert Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against San Tan Charter at 7:00 p.m. on December 6th. San Tan Charter is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Globe, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on San Carlos at 6:00 p.m. on December 9th. San Carlos knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Globe likes a good challenge.
