The biggest upset of the week belonged to Troy, who took down 175th ranked Lago Vista, 21-7. KYLE WHITLEY threw for 24 yards and ran for 131 yards during the win.
Fans got a thrill when McLane Carter and Davis Little connected against Cameron Yoe. The connection went for 75 yards, the longest such play in 2A-1 Region IV District 13 this season.
Carter threw for 306 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 15-26 with 1 interception.
Traion Smith was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 201 yards as the Yoemen fell to the Yoemen. Teammate Aaron Sims added to the ground attack by rushing for 112 yards.
The Eagles' Carter and Little led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Carter has thrown for 1,374 yards this season, while Little has 14 catches for 452 yards. Cameron Yoe's Smith leads the league in rushing yards with 696.
A big matchup in 2A-1 Region IV District 13 this week will be when Rick Rhoades' team takes on Little River Academy. The Yoemen are in second place, while the Bumblebees are in fifth place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when McGregor takes on the Vikings. The Bulldogs have allowed 75 points this season, while Lago Vista has given up 94.
Marlin was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Bulldogs defeated Florence 45-0 earlier in the week.
