This season hasn't been kind to Providence Classical, who are still winless after their fifth game. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cornerstone Christian on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Providence Classical of the 49-29 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Cornerstone Christian found their leader in underclassman Tamia Ballard, who scored 18 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Ballard hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Coots, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Providence Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Cornerstone Christian, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.
Providence Classical does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cornerstone Christian will head out on the road to face off against the Torches at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
