New Athens is a perfect 10-0 against Lebanon since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets will square off against the Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. Lebanon took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on New Athens, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, New Athens earned a 4-1 win over Dupo. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Brett Miller made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carson Lauer, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Brayden Middendorf, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
New Athens hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dupo struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Lebanon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to Steeleville.
Lebanon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicky Burger, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
New Athens' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lebanon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
New Athens came out on top in a nail-biter against Lebanon in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
