The Northeastern Knights will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Lapel Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Northeastern posted their biggest victory yet this season on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Knightstown 71-40 on the road. Given Northeastern's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Knightstown is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Landon Scarrette was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Dae Lundy was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Lapel scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 77-63 win over Hamilton Heights. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lapel.
Northeastern has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Lapel, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Northeastern strolled past Lapel in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 by a score of 50-36. Will Northeastern repeat their success, or does Lapel have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
