The Hickory Hawks will be playing at home against the Oscar Smith Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Hickory will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Oscar Smith is ranked 34th).
Hickory can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Lakeland, posting a 35-0 victory at home. Hickory's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Meanwhile, Oscar Smith unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of King's Fork by a score of 21-19.
Hickory's victory bumped their season record to 2-6 while Oscar Smith's defeat dropped theirs to 5-3.
Hickory took a serious blow against Oscar Smith in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, falling 74-13. Can Hickory avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
