The loss continues a trend for the Rockets in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.
Victoria Thompson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lilly Carlier made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryley Kleemeyer, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Whiteoak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Fairfield, falling 10-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.
Fayetteville-Perry's record is now 5-7. As for Whiteoak, their record now sits at 2-8.
Whiteoak's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fayetteville-Perry has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Whiteoak, though, as they've been averaging 11.1 hits. Given Fayetteville-Perry's sizable advantage in that area, the Wildcats will need to find a way to close that gap.
