After flying high against the Astronaut War Eagles last Friday, the Titusville Terriers came back down to earth. Titusville fell 35-26 to Bayside on Thursday. Titusville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bayside apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2021.
Titusville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kennedie Sanders, who scored nine points.
It was another big night for Angelina Spence, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals for Bayside. Spence is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Shamora Scott, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Titusville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Bayside, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Titusville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Satellite at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Satellite has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Bayside, they will be playing at home against Rockledge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bayside is coming into the game with five straight wins at home, so Rockledge is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
