The Renton Red Hawks entered their tilt with the Sammamish RedHawks with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Renton came out on top against the RedHawks by a score of 79-66 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Renton was led to victory by Dennis Johnson III and Daniel Jackson jr.. Johnson III dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, while Jackson jr. dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson III is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Agosto, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Sammamish's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rakin Showki, who scored 19 points. Showki has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keith Kariuki, who scored 15 points.
Renton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Sammamish, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.
Renton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sammamish will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Lindbergh focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Monday.
