The Lincoln Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 80-53 loss at the hands of Westlake. While losing is never fun, Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 399th, while Westlake is ranked 119th).
Lincoln's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karon Hickman , who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Hickman pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jailos Chilomba, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Lincoln's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4. As for Westlake, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Lincoln will be home for the holidays to greet Clarkstown North at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Westlake, they will head out on the road to face off against Greenburgh-North Castle at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
