It was a good run, but the Wauconda Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Monday. They lost to Warren Township on the road by a decisive 52-34 margin. Wauconda was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Warren Township apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Leading Warren Township to victory were Nari Powers and Mariah Phelps. Powers scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Phelps dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamila Bland, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Wauconda's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-6. As for Warren Township, their victory bumped their record up to 15-12.
Wauconda didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-23 loss vs. Grayslake Central on the 7th. Warren Township has also already played their next game, a 54-33 victory against Waukegan on the 7th.
