Fort Meade hasn't had much luck against George Jenkins recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Miners will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Fort Meade will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Avon Park on Monday. The Miners were the clear victors by an 18-6 margin over the Red Devils.

Makayla Deleon was a standout: she scored three runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Kenya Faulk, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Fort Meade hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask George Jenkins). They put the hurt on Winter Haven with a sharp 19-1 win on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Layla Hinojosa was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Hinojosa was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Alaina Kennedy was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. Justice Jadwin also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Fort Meade's record is now 12-7. As for George Jenkins, their record now sits at 10-7.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fort Meade hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .377. However, it's not like George Jenkins struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fort Meade couldn't quite finish off George Jenkins when the teams last played two weeks ago and fell 6-4. Can the Miners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
