The Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Greenbrier East Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodrow Wilson will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Monday, Woodrow Wilson was able to grind out a solid victory over Oak Hill, taking the game 10-5.
Tyler Wilhite made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Greenbrier East came out on top against Independence on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Spartans walked away with a 10-6 win over the Patriots. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.
Like Woodrow Wilson, Greenbrier East also got a great game from a two-way player: Brady May. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. May was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Graham Brewster and Zion Detko did most of the damage at the plate: Brewster went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Detko went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Greenbrier East is undefeated when Detko posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-9 otherwise. Clay Patton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Woodrow Wilson's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Greenbrier East, their record is now 16-9.
Woodrow Wilson might still be hurting after the 13-7 defeat they got from Greenbrier East in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Flying Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
