The Bishop Brady Giants will head out on the road to take on the Trinity Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Brady will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Bishop Brady hadn't beaten Hopkinton on the road since May 4, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Giants blew past the Hawks 8-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Giants have posted against the Hawks since May 11, 2016.

Abby Tyrrell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Mundy, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Natalie Sherman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.
Bishop Brady kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Trinity came into Wednesday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Newfound Regional by a score of 8-3 on Wednesday.
Like Bishop Brady, Trinity also got a great game from a two-way player: Emily Makris. She pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Makris was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Trinity got a massive performance out of Catie Bishop, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophia Romano, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Bishop Brady pushed their record up to 7-2-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Trinity, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-6.
Trinity's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Bishop Brady has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Trinity, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Bishop Brady keep running through batters, or will the Pioneers buck the trend?
Bishop Brady took their victory against Trinity when the teams last played back in May of 2019 by a conclusive 15-2 score. Will the Giants repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
