The Word of God Academy Force will head out on the road to square off against the Brighton Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Word of God Academy came up short against NELA Christian Homeschool and fell 49-42. Word of God Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their defeat, Word of God Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Shiloh Brokenberry, who scored 17 points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 40.5% of Word of God Academy's points, marking the 14th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Christina Guardado, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Brighton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics at home and fell 63-23.
Word of God Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Brighton, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
