The North Canyon Rattlers were the 59-46 winner over the Central Bobcats when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. North Canyon took a 46-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central. North Canyon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
North Canyon lost on Monday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lanaya McCloud, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Ava Adams, who scored ten points along with eight assists and two steals.
Lia Sims continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Central, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it 21 consecutive games in which Sims has scored at least a third of Central's points. Amber Shorten was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
North Canyon has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
North Canyon will head out on the road to take on Fairfax at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairfax has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Metro Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Metro Tech has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
