The Hubbard Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mineral Ridge Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hubbard will be strutting in after a victory while Mineral Ridge will be coming in after a loss.
Hubbard took care of business in their home opener on Friday (barely). They had just enough and edged Brookfield out 51-48.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hubbard to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braydon Songer, who scored 18 points. Gavin Rybicki was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Mineral Ridge came up short against Champion on Tuesday and fell 60-50. Mineral Ridge has not had much luck with Champion recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Julian Rozzi, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Landon Bingham, who scored 12 points.
Hubbard's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Mineral Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
