Ravenswood put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They breezed by Tyler at home to the tune of 67-36. Given Ravenswood's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Tyler is ranked 103rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Buffalo scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Saturday. They managed a 91-85 win over Teays Valley Christian. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Buffalo did.
Buffalo found their leader in underclassman Asher Flanery, who scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Flanery has scored all season. Jackson Mallett was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Ravenswood is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Buffalo, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Ravenswood against Buffalo in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 64-31 victory. Does Ravenswood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Buffalo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
