 The  win  got Smith-Cotton back to even at 11-11. As for Battle, their defeat was  their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 4-14.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smith-Cotton will  take on Marshall at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Battle, they will be staying on the road  on Friday to face off against Capital City at 5:30  p.m. Capital City's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6  runs per game  this season, so Battle's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
