Deer Valley had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Thunderbird on Thursday. The Deer Valley Skyhawks blew past the Thunderbird Titans 10-3. Considering the Skyhawks have won five matchups by more than six  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Adyson Ordway made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out ten batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Taylor Passalacqua and  Priscilla Lopez did most of the damage at the plate:  Passalacqua  scored three  runs and  stole  Two bases. while going 2-for-3, while  Lopez  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most  hits  Passalacqua has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Samantha Romero, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Deer Valley  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thunderbird only posted  an  OBP of  .208.
The  victory was  the fourth in a row for Deer Valley, bringing their record for this year to 9-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Thunderbird, they moved to 7-2 with that  loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
 Coming up, Deer Valley will take on Westview at 3:45  p.m.  on Tuesday. Deer Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9  runs per game  this season, so Westview's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Thunderbird, they will take on Morenci in a tournament  on Friday. Morenci is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3  runs per game  this season.
