This season hasn't been kind to the Schlarman Hilltoppers, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They were outmatched by Hoopeston at home and fell 61-21. Schlarman lost against Hoopeston in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-11 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Schlarman saw an underclassman step up: Izzy Bogen scored six points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bogen has scored all season.
Schlarman bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.5 points per game. As for Hoopeston, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9.
Schlarman will take on Chrisman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hoopeston, they will be playing at home against Cissna Park at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cissna Park's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Hoopeston's offense will have their work cut out for Hoopeston.
