The Prairie Valley Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Forestburg Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Prairie Valley: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Forestburg has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
Last Friday, Prairie Valley was beaten by Tioga 89-27. While losing is never fun, Prairie Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1312th, while Tioga is ranked 426th).
Meanwhile, Forestburg fought the good fight in their overtime game against Ringling on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brenna Briles, who scored 13 points along with 7 steals and 5 assists. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylee Briles, who scored 13 points.
Their wins bumped Prairie Valley to 4-8 and Tioga to 9-3.
Prairie Valley took their win against Forestburg when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 59-39. Does Prairie Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Forestburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
