Lakeland Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season. They took their game at home on Monday with ease, bagging a 78-43 win over Academy at the Lakes. Given Lakeland Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Academy at the Lakes is ranked 564th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Matthew Stephens, who scored 20 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Donohue, who scored 12 points.
Even though Mulberry has not done well against Tenoroc recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Mulberry claimed a resounding 76-40 victory over Tenoroc at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mulberry.
Lakeland Christian's victory bumped their season record to 3-1 while Academy at the Lakes' defeat dropped theirs to 1-4.
