The Clawson Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Fitzgerald Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Fitzgerald took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Clawson, who comes in off a win.
Clawson took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Mott as they made off with an 11-3 win. Considering the Trojans have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

04/16/25 @ Center Line | 1 |
The team relied heavily on Ezra Lock, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elliott Groves, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Fitzgerald didn't have quite enough to beat Center Line on Wednesday and fell 5-3. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fitzgerald saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dexter Garda, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Clawson pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fitzgerald, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clawson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fitzgerald struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Clawson's way against Fitzgerald in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Clawson made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
