Drew Central hadn't done well against Fordyce recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Pirates never let the Redbugs get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

Drew Central's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Fordyce, they moved to 8-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Drew Central and Fordyce will both be playing Woodlawn the next time they take the field. The Pirates will head out to face the Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Redbugs will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
