The Cedar Valley Aviators will head out to challenge the Spanish Fork Dons at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Cedar Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Timpview with a sharp 13-3 win. The Aviators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Makaylee Barnes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alexis Jenson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Eva Okusi was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Cedar Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Spanish Fork came out on top against Wasatch on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Dons' pitcher stepped up to hand the Wasps a 10-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dons.
Jade Romero was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lia Higginson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Spanish Fork's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-12. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Cedar Valley, they moved to 15-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Cedar Valley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Spanish Fork struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Cedar Valley beat Spanish Fork 8-4 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aviators since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
