The South Western Mustangs won against the Spring Grove Rockets last Friday with 35 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. South Western came out on top against Spring Grove by a score of 35-25. The win was familiar territory for South Western who now have five in a row.
South Western got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryce Graham out in front who threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Austin Rollman also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Spring Grove's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Cowan Ruhland, who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns. Kayleb Allen was another key contributor, picking up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.
South Western's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-3. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Spring Grove, Northeastern, and West York Area. As for Spring Grove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
South Western will be playing in front of their home fans against Greencastle-Antrim at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
