The Lake Country Christian Eagles on the road again on Friday and play against the Midland Classical Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Midland Classical Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Country Christian, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lake Country Christian beat Pantego Christian 54-49. The victory was just what Lake Country Christian needed coming off of a 72-48 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Midland Classical Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 46-25 loss at the hands of Grace Prep. While losing is never fun, Midland Classical Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1139th, while Grace Prep is ranked 231st).
Lake Country Christian's victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-24. As for Midland Classical Academy, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-19.
Lake Country Christian took their win against Midland Classical Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 59-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Country Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
