In other batting news, Rachel Whetten was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bettye Davis East Anchorage, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They never let Service get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.
Like Dimond, Bettye Davis East Anchorage also got a great game from a two-way player: Sela Rodriguez. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched.
