Basketball Game Preview: Pierce Bears vs. Paradise Bobcats

Pierce has gone 7-1 against Paradise recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Pierce Bears will take on the Paradise Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pierce is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Willows 71-41 on Friday. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pierce to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jr Figueroa, who almost dropped a triple-double on 11 points, nine assists, and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Figueroa a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Calvin Bair, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Paradise came tearing into Friday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-42 victory over the Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bobcats have posted since February 9, 2024.

Paradise has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Pierce, they moved to 8-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Pierce was able to grind out a solid win over Paradise when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 46-39. Does Pierce have another victory up their sleeve, or will Paradise turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
