The Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They walked away with a 14-7 victory over Maclay.
Zephyrhills Christian Academy was led to victory by Amarri Range and Parker Stirnkorb. Range picked up 115 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Stirnkorb threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.4% of his passes. Zephyrhills Christian Academy also got a significant boost from Alexavier Hairston, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 105 yards.
When it comes to explaining why Maclay lost, one person who can't be blamed is George Grant. Despite the final result, he rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Grant's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.
Zephyrhills Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Maclay, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Zephyrhills Christian Academy has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Northside Christian at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. As for Maclay, they will head out on the road to face off against Rocky Bayou Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
