The Lemon Bay Manta Rays's found some homefield redemption this week after a tough overtime loss to the Port Charlotte Pirates on Monday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, Lemon Bay made off with a 58-57 win over the Cowboys/Cowgirls. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lemon Bay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Benedict, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayson Roberts, who scored six points.
LaBelle lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Clifford Love, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Alan King jr, who scored 14 points.
Lemon Bay has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season. As for LaBelle, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-14.
