West Ranch has gone a perfect 6-0 against Castaic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:15 p.m. West Ranch will be strutting in after a win while Castaic will be coming in after a defeat.
West Ranch made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Golden Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats blew past the Grizzlies 20-5 last Thursday. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
GRETCHEN ROEN and NAOMI STOLL made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, ROEN tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, STOLL tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, ROEN scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while STOLL went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles.

Meanwhile, Castaic fell victim to Saugus and their airtight pitching crew last Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centurions. The loss continues a trend for the Coyotes in their meetings with the Centurions: they've now lost seven in a row.
The victory made it two in a row for West Ranch and bumps their season record up to 6-12. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Castaic, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Ranch hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. However, it's not like Castaic struggles in that department as they've averaged .379. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Ranch took their victory against Castaic in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
