Basketball Recap: Hargrave Piles Up the Points Against Livingston

Hargrave came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Livingston Lions, posting an 81-52 win. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 games by 22 points or more this season.

Livingston's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cory Dirden, who posted 17 points and eight boards, and Ziekus Garner, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Garner has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 16 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Roberto Ramirez, who scored nine points.

Hargrave pushed their record up to 24-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.8 points. As for Livingston, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-12.

Coincidentally, Hargrave and Livingston will both be playing Hardin-Jefferson the next time they take the court. Hargrave will host Hardin-Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Livingston will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
