The Bozeman Bucks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They fell 42-34 to Blountstown. While losing is never fun, Bozeman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Tigers are ranked 196th).
Several Bucks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Skyler Scott, who scored 14 points. Krista Pierce was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Blountstown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaharra Pennywell led the charge by scoring 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pennywell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyianna Smith, who scored 11 points.
Bozeman's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Blountstown, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Bozeman will take on the Marlins at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Blountstown, they and the Bulldogs will face off at 5:15 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Liberty County will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
