Softball Recap: West Bladen Has No Trouble Against Clinton

West Bladen had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Clinton on Tuesday. The Knights blew past the Dark Horses 9-1. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Marlene Crabtree spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

At the plate, Kali Allen was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Wilcox, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The win got West Bladen back to even at 5-5. As for Clinton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

West Bladen will have a chance to go back-to-back against Clinton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
