This season hasn't been kind to the Ellicott Thunderhawks, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They were beaten by The Vanguard School 84-32 on Saturday. Ellicott was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-16.
The Vanguard School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nathan Morris led the charge by scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Morris scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Hoover, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Ellicott bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for The Vanguard School, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Ellicott will head out on the road to face off against James Irwin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully James Irwin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday. As for The Vanguard School, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Gunnison at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. Gunnison will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 284th, while The Vanguard School is ranked 30th).
