The New Prairie Cougars lost against the Mishawaka Cavemen back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. New Prairie was outmatched by Mishawaka on the road and fell 73-33. New Prairie was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-19.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trenton Klute, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Devan Kalicki, who scored 12 points.
New Prairie's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Mishawaka, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
New Prairie will be home for the holidays to greet Boone Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Boone Grove is ranked 397th, while New Prairie is ranked 376th). Mishawaka will take on South Bend Riley in a holiday battle at TBD on Friday at.
