Lovejoy is on a four-game streak of home losses, Rockdale County a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Lovejoy Wildcats will take on the Rockdale County Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Lovejoy pushed their score all the way to 57 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Cobb.
Demarco Davis put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tj Boyd, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Rockdale County managed to keep up with Woodward Academy until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Rockdale County's rough 73-47 defeat to Woodward Academy might stick with them for a while. Rockdale County has not had much luck with Woodward Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Lovejoy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Rockdale County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Lovejoy won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in November of 2023, slipping by Rockdale County 54-53. Does Lovejoy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rockdale County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
