Two dominant guards in Jariah Williams and Jesstynie Scott are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Worth County Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Sumter County Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Worth County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Friday.
Worth County posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. Everything went their way against Cook as Worth County made off with a 60-39 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Worth County has posted against Cook since February 1, 2020.
Worth County found their leader in underclassman Williams, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Worth County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenslie Puckett, who scored three points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Sumter County waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 49-37 victory over Dodge County.
The win got Worth County back to even at 7-7. As for Sumter County, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Worth County skirted past Sumter County 46-44 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Does Worth County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sumter County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
