Even though the Minneola Wildcats have not done well against the Cunningham Wildcats recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Minneola blew past Cunningham 61-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Minneola also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Minneola's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braegen Shelor, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maiya Shelor, who scored 22 points.
Minneola's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Cunningham, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minneola will take on Rolla at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cunningham will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Argonia on December 12th.
