The Scranton Knights will challenge the Mid Valley Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Scranton's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against West Scranton by a score of 5-0.
Not much got past Thor Kelly, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep West Scranton off the board. Kelly also tossed a walk, which is notable because Scranton is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Henry Bartlebaugh was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Thomas Bartlebaugh was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.
Scranton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Scranton struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Mid Valley waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Hornets 11-1. Considering the Spartans have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Nick Mills made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joey Romanosky, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. Another player making a difference was Doug Pua, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Scranton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mid Valley, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Scranton came out on top in a nail-biter against Mid Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
