The Dixie County Bears entered their tilt with the Countryside Christian Minutemen with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Dixie County claimed a resounding 50-20 victory over Countryside Christian on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Dixie County has posted yet this season.
Dixie County found their leader in underclassman Jakayla Henderson, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Jaidyn Brown, who scored 11 points.
When it comes to explaining why Countryside Christian lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Madelyn Watson. Despite the final result, she scored six points.
Dixie County's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. As for Countryside Christian, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dixie County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chiefland at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Chiefland is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Countryside Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ocala Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
