Fans got a thrill when Dominic Sabel and Derek Friske connected against Calvary Murrieta. The longest such play in Peninsula - Lake this season, the connection resulted in 80 yards.
King's Academy moved up to 644 from 726 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Knights were able to move up by defeating the Warriors 49-14.
King's Academy's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Sabel threw for 278 and 5 touchdowns and Friske had 112 yards receiving. On the ground Alex Bae chipped in 87 yards. Mark Miclean helped King's Academy's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 96 yards.
Ruben Pekary was a key player and the best on defense this week as William Gittens' team defeated Calvary Murrieta. The 5-foot-6 senior recorded 1 fumble.

Bae was the best running back in the league this week. In 9 carries, he ran for 87 yards as the Knights beat Brad Schwab's team. Teammate Colin Mai added to the ground attack by rushing for 88 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Cole Carrithers of Hillsdale is the league leader in passing yards this season with 854. He has also thrown 8 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Friske. The King's Academy star has 13 catches for 249 yards.
The top two teams in Peninsula - Lake will face off this week when first place Mills takes on second place El Camino.
