Northview hasn't had much luck against Edgewood recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Knights will face off against the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Northview will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Sullivan on Tuesday. The Knights walked away with a 12-7 win over the Golden Arrows. Considering the Knights' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Maggie Krause was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Chloe Batchelor and Kaylee Krause did most of the damage at the plate: Batchelor got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Kaylee got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. What's more, Krause posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April. Mackie Pell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Northview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Edgewood owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top against Greencastle by a score of 4-0. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Tiger Cubs: they've now won nine in a row.
The result came thanks to ALLY BLAND's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on OLIVIA McPHERSON, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Edgewood's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Northview, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Northview has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Edgewood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Northview came up short against Edgewood in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
