Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, the Chapel Hill Panthers couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 38-14 walloping at the hands of Eastside on Friday. Chapel Hill's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Eastside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Kenon out in front who picked up 183 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Eastside also got a significant boost from Anquez Cobb, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.
Chapel Hill's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Eastside, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Chapel Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Eastside will square off against Cartersville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cartersville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
