Baseball Recap: Lancaster Catholic Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Lancaster Catholic lost to Pequea Valley on April 2nd, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Crusaders walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Braves.

Drew Walker made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lancaster Catholic is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise. Walker was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with four runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Ty George was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Zach Zuber was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Lancaster Catholic lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Lancaster Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Pequea Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lancaster Catholic will welcome Lancaster Mennonite at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Crusaders are facing the Blazers at the right time seeing as the Blazers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Pequea Valley, they will be playing at home against Annville-Cleona at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Braves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dutchmen have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
