The New Brockton Gamecocks waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 58-40 win over Opp. That result was just more of the same for these two, as New Brockton also won the last time the pair played last Tuesday.
New Brockton found their leader in underclassman Reese Eddins, who scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniya Barkley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
New Brockton pushed their record up to 13-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26 points. As for Opp, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Brockton will take on Pike County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Opp won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Elba at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Elba presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Opp in Alabama (Elba is ranked 144th, while Opp is ranked 413th).
