Meanwhile, Southside came up short against  Pamlico County on Wednesday, falling  10-4.
  Taylor Ashley and  Dexter Oden did some serious damage despite the final result:  Ashley  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while  Oden  scored a  run and  stole four bases while going 1-for-2.  Brenen Whaley also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
 Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Lejeune, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
 Lejeune couldn't quite finish off Southside in their previous meeting  back in May of 2024 and fell  4-2. Can the Devil Pups avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
